The feature film Bábovky (Sweethearts) is based on a bestselling novel by the writer Radka Třeštíková, which sold over 160 000 copies in the Czech Republic.
The stories of the film protagonists show that some encounters can change our lives forever. We are all connected. Through relationships, work, coincidences, hatred or love. We are all part of the most complex web woven from emotions including humour, irony, pain, tension and – naturally – love and passion. Sweethearts survey the current state of partner and family relations, show funny and accurate situations from everyday live, familiar to everyone.
The film primarily targets female audience, as does the book; male characters are however strengthened and they excellently complement their female partners. We believe that the film will capture great part of male audience as well.
